Paul Bakery @ Takashimaya

Decided to go Paul Bakery for dinner and was surprised that there is no queue. Remembered that when it first opened in Singapore, the queue is forever long.

Managed to get a table in less than a minute and looking through the menu with quite a variety ranging from sandwiches, to freshly baked bread to tarts and even omelette.

After some deliberation, I ordered the open sandwich - Tartine Saumon Fume (Smoked salmon, tomatoes, cucumber, and soft white cheese). Out of the open sandwich, this is the only dish that is served cold. It does not take long for them to serve the food. To me, the bread was a bit hard and it was quite a mess to eat with knife and fork. The smoked salmon is nice and it went well with the combo of tomatoes, cucumber and cheese. But after eating halfway, the cheese becomes a bit savoury. Was glad that the side salad was served together.

After food, it's time to enjoy a cup of cappuccino. Nothing fanciful on the coffee art. Great to have a cup of coffee to end off the dinner date.

A couple of desserts and bread items have grabbed my attention but there wasn't any room for more food. Guess I will be back for the desserts and bread and that's provided there is no queue.
